Capture
Press ⌘⇧4 and drag over the area you need. A small card appears with the result.

Review
The privacy shield reads the text on your device, finds sensitive patterns and covers them with a solid fill in the editor; undo anything you don't want. Switch to “Suggest only” in Settings.

Annotate
Add arrows, text, numbered steps or a crop. Undo works in one step.

Share
Copy, save or drag the image out. Hidden areas are changed in the exported file.

Fast capture
Area, window, full screen, previous area and timer. A small card appears after each capture: copy, save, edit or drag.
Annotation editor
Arrows, shapes, text, highlighter, numbered steps, blur and crop. In the free version, no watermark.
Screen recording
Record an area, a window or a screen as MP4, with no time limit. Pro adds GIF, trimming, 60 fps and High quality.
History and search
Keep captures in an encrypted history; 7 days in the free version. Pro adds 14, 30 or 90-day history and search of the text inside your images (searching by title and app name is free).
Privacy is not an add-on
Nothing you capture leaves your Mac.
Croptrove asks for no account, uploads nothing and uses no trackers. The privacy shield is on in the free version too. It finds sensitive patterns and covers them with a solid fill in the editor. No detection method is perfect, so review the result before you share.

On-device reading
Text in the image is read on your Mac; nothing is uploaded.
You stay in control
Findings show in the editor; undo them or switch to “Suggest only”.
Hide is permanent
“Hide” changes the pixels in the exported file; the data underneath is not kept. Blur and pixelate can be reversed; to really hide something, use Hide. History stores the masked image by default; the unmasked original is not kept. A project file (.cxproject) contains the original; share an exported PNG instead.
Respects password managers
Known password-manager windows are excluded from capture by default.
The network is used only for actions you start (for example update checks and the payment page). The server keeps only a licence record; your screenshots and recordings never reach it.
Editing
Fix it before you share.
Arrows, text, blur and crop in one window. Undo works in one step.
