Install in three steps

    Open the DMG

    Double-click the downloaded Croptrove DMG in your Downloads folder.

  2. 2

    Drag to Applications

    Drag the Croptrove icon onto the Applications folder, then eject the disk image.

    Open and allow access

    Open Croptrove from Applications. If macOS asks, confirm Open, then grant the permissions below.

Permissions on first launch

Croptrove asks the first time you use a feature. Nothing is uploaded; everything stays on your Mac.

  • Screen & System Audio Recording Required

    Needed to capture. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, turn Croptrove on, and reopen the app if macOS asks.

  • Microphone Optional

    Only if you record screen videos with your voice.

  • Accessibility Optional

    Only when you turn on auto-scroll. System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. On macOS 27 this section may be called “Device Control & Data Access”.

  • Input Monitoring Optional

    Only when you turn on key display (KeyViz). System Settings → Privacy & Security → Input Monitoring.

Already have a license?

Sign in to your account and choose “Activate in Croptrove”. The app opens and asks you to confirm. You can also enter the key in Settings → Pro.

Which Macs are supported?

Any Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. One universal build runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel.

macOS says it was downloaded from the internet. Is that normal?

Yes. Every app downloaded outside the App Store shows that one-time prompt. Croptrove is signed with Moontra Software’s Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so you just click Open.

How do updates work?

Updates arrive inside the app. You do not need to come back to this page.

How do I remove it?

Quit Croptrove and drag it from Applications to the Trash. Captures you saved to disk stay where you put them.
