Croptrove

Croptrove — End User License Agreement and Terms of Use (EULA / ToS)

This text is not a substitute for legal advice; it is based on primary legislation (mevzuat.gov.tr) and the app's own behaviour.

Version: 5 (Croptrove, Moontra shared licence model) · 3 October 2026 · Effective date: 3 October 2026 · Change: one Moontra licence key, bundle, one licence service and one shared account panel

1. Parties

This agreement is between Moontra Software Yazılım ve İnovasyon Ticaret Limited Şirketi (Moontra Software Ltd.) (address: HALKALI MERKEZ MAH. HALKALI CAD. TEKNO PARK İDARE BİNASI NO: 281/23 İÇ KAPI NO: 2 KÜÇÜKÇEKMECE/İSTANBUL, Türkiye; tax ID: 6222607413, tax office: Halkalı Tax Office) ("Moontra Software", "we") and the person who installs or uses Croptrove (or another Moontra app that accepts the same licence) ("you"). Croptrove is Moontra Software's product name; we do not claim a registered trademark for this name.

2. Seller: Paddle (Merchant of Record)

When you buy Croptrove Pro from our website, Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and/or its affiliates) is the seller and the party responsible for payment. Paddle handles payment, invoicing, sales tax/VAT and refunds; Paddle's buyer terms and privacy policy apply to your purchase in addition to this agreement. We grant the licence; Paddle collects payment and sales tax. Paddle's contracting entity depends on where the buyer is: Paddle.com Inc. (3811 Ditmars Blvd. #1071, Astoria, New York, NY 11105-1803, USA) for the United States, Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd. (22 Adelaide Street West, Suite 3400, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 4E3, Canada) for Canada, and Paddle.com Market Limited (registered in England and Wales, company number 8172165; registered office: 30 Old Bailey, London, EC4M 7AU, United Kingdom) for everywhere else, including Türkiye. Current buyer terms: https://www.paddle.com/legal/buyer-terms · Paddle's refund policy: https://www.paddle.com/legal/refund-policy

3. Scope of the licence

  1. Grant: A personal (or, for your own work within one business), non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive right to use the software. The software is licensed, not sold.
  2. Packages and seats: Pro is sold in two ways: single-app packages (Pro — 1 Mac, Pro — 3 Macs) and the Moontra Bundle, which covers several Moontra apps (currently Copytrove + Croptrove; 1 Mac and 3 Macs). A "seat" is one Mac on which the licence is activated for an app; the licence may be used on as many Macs as its package has seats (1 or 3), belonging to the same person (or used for your own work within one business). Seats are counted per app: with a 3 Mac bundle you can activate each app on up to 3 Macs; if you install both apps on the same Mac, each app uses one seat. The seat limit is also enforced technically at activation; trying to exceed it breaches this agreement. When you remove a Mac from the app or from your account panel, that seat is freed and can be used on another Mac. You can later upgrade a 1 Mac package to 3 Macs (section 5).
  3. The Moontra Bundle is one product: The bundle is sold as a separate product on Paddle and gives you one licence key; the same key activates every app in the bundle. The "saving" shown on the website only displays the difference between the sum of the single prices and the bundle price. For update entitlement, renewal, upgrade and refund the bundle is treated as one product (sections 5 and 10).
  4. Apps added to the bundle later: If a new app is added to the Moontra Bundle in future, the right to use it is given to existing bundle owners too, at no extra charge, according to your bundle's seat count; no new key is needed. We tell you by email and in the account panel when it is added.
  5. Prohibited use: Reverse engineering, attempting to obtain source code, cracking/sharing/reselling licence keys, or offering the software to third parties as a service — except to the extent applicable law expressly allows.
  6. Third-party components: The software contains open-source components (for example Sparkle). Their licence texts are shown in the app under About → Licenses and their own licences apply to them.

4. Free tier, trial and Pro

  • Free tier: Core features are free; scope and limits are as shown in the app. The privacy shield is also available in the free tier.
  • Trial: Pro features can be tried free for 14 days from the first time the app is opened on a Mac. The trial asks for no card, account or email address and does not turn into a paid purchase by itself. The trial start is kept only on that Mac (in the Keychain and in the app's support folder); it is not reported to any server. Turning the system clock back does not extend the trial. When the trial ends, Pro features are locked and the app keeps working with the Free tier; files you saved to disk are not deleted and remain yours. In the Free tier the in-app history shows at most 7 days; keeping 14, 30 or 90 days can be chosen in Pro and during the trial. When Pro or the trial ends, history items older than 7 days are not deleted, only hidden; they show again when you return to Pro (or get a new licence). Those items are still deleted when the retention period you chose runs out, or at any time with "Delete history".
  • Pro: Bought with a one-time payment; it is not a subscription. List prices (USD): Pro — 1 Mac $19.99, Pro — 3 Macs $29.99; the early-access price is $14.99 for 1 Mac. Moontra Bundle (Copytrove + Croptrove): $27.99 for 1 Mac, $41.99 for 3 Macs (the single prices add up to $39.98 / $59.98). Paddle may apply regional pricing; the final amount including taxes is shown by Paddle at checkout.

5. Update entitlement, renewal and upgrade

  1. A Pro licence includes all versions (including new versions) released in the 12 months after the purchase day; for the Moontra Bundle this period applies to every app in the bundle. A version's "release date" is built into the app; versions released on or before your update-entitlement end date work as Pro.
  2. Renewal is optional and half price: for a single product $9.99 for 1 Mac, $14.99 for 3 Macs; for the Moontra Bundle $13.99 for 1 Mac, $20.99 for 3 Macs (list price; Paddle may apply regional pricing/tax). A bundle renewal adds 12 months to the update entitlement of all apps in the bundle together. A renewal adds 12 months to your entitlement: if you renew before it ends, your remaining time is kept and 12 months are added on top; if you renew after it ended, the 12 months start on the renewal day — there is no fee or penalty for renewing late.
  3. If you do not renew, the app does not stop working. Versions released up to your entitlement end date keep working as Pro indefinitely, and your data is not deleted. Only the right to use versions released after that date as Pro ends; the app shows this as "Your update entitlement has ended for this version" together with a "Renew" button.
  4. 1 → 3 Mac upgrade: for a one-time $10.00 for a single product, or $13.99 for the Moontra Bundle (list price), your seats become 3 (a bundle upgrade applies to all apps in the bundle); your update-entitlement end date does not change.
  5. There is no automatic subscription; you are not charged automatically. If a separate subscription tier is ever offered, it will be under separate terms and with your explicit consent.
  6. Reminders: the app highlights "Renew" in the last 30 days of your entitlement and the account panel shows the days left. We also send a reminder email 30 days and 1 day before your update entitlement ends, and one when it ends (Privacy note). These are transactional emails that are part of the licence service, not marketing.

6. Activation, licence verification and the account panel

  1. Delivery: When the Paddle payment completes, the Moontra licence service creates a licence key and emails it to you (one email, one key; a bundle purchase includes an activation link for each app). The key is also shown on the thank-you page that opens after purchase, for a short period (72 hours), using the Paddle transaction number. If you lose it later, you can show it again or have it emailed again from the account panel, or ask support. Activation and verification for all Moontra apps are run by this one service (account.moontrasoftware.com), which runs on the company's server in the Finland data centre at Hetzner.
  2. What the key contains: The key is a short, digitally signed (Ed25519) text that contains only: licence ID, issue date, the number of seats of the package you bought (1 or 3), the products (apps) it covers, the signing key's ID and the format version. Your name, email address, device details and capture data are never in the key.
  3. Activation: You paste the key into the app under Settings → Pro, or press "Activate in Croptrove" on the thank-you page (the app opens and asks you to confirm). The app activates this Mac online once; after that Pro also works without an internet connection. A valid activation confirmation is saved only in that Mac's Keychain and is valid only on that Mac; you cannot copy it to use on another Mac.
  4. What activation sends: the licence key, the app's product ID, this Mac's irreversible device digest (SHA-256 of a hardware identifier; it cannot be turned back into the identifier), the Mac's model name (e.g. MacBookPro18,1) or a short name you type yourself, and the app version. The device digest is derived separately for each app: the same Mac has a different digest in Croptrove and in Copytrove, and the two cannot be matched directly. Your computer name, user name, screenshots, recordings and clipboard content are never sent. Details: Privacy note and KVKK notice.
  5. Licence verification: While automatic update checks are on (the app asks on first use and turns them on only with your consent; you can turn them off in settings at any time), the app verifies your licence status with the Moontra licence service (account.moontrasoftware.com) together with the update check — at most once a day. This is a separate request: the update check goes to the update server, the verification goes to the licence service. It sends only the activation confirmation of this Mac; the reply is one of: valid / this Mac was removed / the licence was refunded. If you turn automatic checks off, verification happens only when you choose "Check for Updates…" or start a licence action; the app has no licence timer of its own.
  6. When Pro turns off: if this Mac was removed from your account panel or from the app, or the licence was fully refunded, Pro turns off at the next verification; the app returns to the Free tier (or to the trial, if it is still running) and your data is not deleted. If a bundle licence was fully refunded, Pro turns off this way in all apps of the bundle.
  7. 60 / 75-day rule: if there is no successful verification for 60 days, the app asks you to verify your licence; Pro keeps working meanwhile. If it is still unverified on day 75, Pro pauses until you verify; your data is not deleted, and Pro comes back immediately after a successful verification. An unreachable server (no internet, a temporary error) does not turn Pro off by itself; it only runs this clock.
  8. Limits on Macs (in plain words): (a) removing Macs from the account panel is limited to 3 times in the last 30 days per licence and per app; at the limit no further removal is possible, and an allowance returns on the 30th day after the oldest counted removal. "Remove this Mac" in the app does not count towards this limit. (b) To stop a key from being passed around by removing and re-activating Macs again and again, a licence can activate at most its seat count plus 3 new Macs in any 30 days, per app (for example 4 different Macs for a 1 Mac package, 6 for a 3 Mac package). Re-activating a Mac you already use does not count. If you reach the limit, the app asks you to try again later; the allowance frees up as the 30 days pass. If you really need more (for example you replaced several Macs), write to us and we will help.
  9. Account panel: You sign in without a password to the account panel (account.moontrasoftware.com), which is shared by all Moontra apps: you enter your email address and, if you have a licence on record, a single-use sign-in link valid for 15 minutes is emailed to you; the link opens a session cookie that lasts 7 days (httpOnly; the server keeps only a hash of the session token). In the panel you see your licences (the apps a bundle covers appear as separate tabs), your update-entitlement end date and days left, your active Macs per app (including "remove"), your payment history (date, type, amount; no card data) and the renew/upgrade options, and you can show your licence key again or have it emailed again. Do not share your sign-in link or your licence key. The licence key, the sign-in link and update reminders are transactional emails; we send them from license@moontrasoftware.com through our email service provider Resend. Every reminder email contains a link to switch reminders off in the panel.
  10. Refunds: A full refund of the purchase (or a chargeback) makes the licence invalid: new activations are refused and Pro turns off on existing Macs at the next verification. A refund below the transaction total does not affect the licence. The Moontra Bundle is refunded as one product: a full refund of the bundle closes the rights to all apps in it together; a partial refund for only one app (for example only Croptrove) is not possible. If you only want to give up one app, write to us; we will refund the bundle and help you get the app you want as a single product. A refunded renewal recalculates your update-entitlement end date; a refunded upgrade returns the seat count to 1 (Macs already active keep working, but no new Mac can be activated); for a bundle this applies to all apps in the bundle together.

7. Your data and privacy

Your captures and history are stored on your device (history encrypted) and are not sent to us. The app uses the network only for actions you start, such as update checks (Sparkle) and the payment page. See the Privacy note for details.

8. Disclaimer of warranty

To the extent permitted by law the software is provided "as is", without express or implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose or of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Screenshot tools work with other applications' content; you are responsible for backing up important data. The privacy shield suggests what to hide and is a helping measure: no detection method is perfect, it is not guaranteed to catch every sensitive item, and you must review the result before sharing.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moontra Software's total liability arising from this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant licence, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages (including data loss or lost profit). Liability for intent or gross negligence, and liability under mandatory consumer law, is not limited: an advance agreement excluding liability for gross negligence is void (Turkish Code of Obligations art. 115). Software counts as "goods" under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 (art. 3/1-h); if the software is defective, the consumer's statutory remedies (withdrawal from the contract, price reduction, free repair, replacement — art. 11) are not limited by this section, and terms that unfairly tilt the contract against the consumer are void as unfair terms (art. 5). For consumers living in the EU, the mandatory consumer rules of their country of residence remain unaffected.

10. Refunds

Refund terms are set out in the separate Refund Policy and in Paddle's buyer terms.

11. Termination

Your licence may end if you breach this agreement. You may end the agreement at any time by removing the software. Termination does not give a right to a refund beyond the legal/Paddle terms.

12. Changes

We may update these terms; the current version and its date are published on the website. Material changes are announced on the website and in the app's release notes at least 30 days before they take effect (we do not keep your email address, so we do not notify by email). Changes apply only going forward: they never narrow the scope of a licence you have already bought. If you do not accept a change, you may keep using your current version without installing the update.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

  1. This agreement is governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye.
  2. Consumers: Consumers in Türkiye apply to the consumer arbitration committee at their place of residence or where the transaction was made for disputes below the monetary limit announced each year by the Ministry of Trade; above that limit the consumer courts have jurisdiction, and a case may also be brought where the consumer lives (Law No. 6502 art. 68, 73). Mediation is mandatory before a case at the consumer court (art. 73/A). Consumers living in the EU keep the mandatory consumer protections of their country of residence and their right to go to that country's courts.
  3. Non-consumers (merchants and organisations buying Pro for commercial or professional use): the Istanbul Courts and Enforcement Offices have jurisdiction.
